Cyclic citrullinated peptide antibodies are a type of antibody that can be present in the blood in those with an autoimmune disease known as rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
This test measures those antibodies. It is considered the most reliable marker of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) risk. It is used alongside a rheumatoid factor test to give a picture of RA risk and prognosis.

This test requires a blood draw, which can be done at your local clinic. It will be analysed by an accredited lab, such as Karolinska, Aleris or Unilabs. The first results are usually available within 48h.
If you have symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, an antibody known as rheumatoid factor is the usual arthritis test. However, it is affected by other factors and is found in many patients with other autoimmune- or infectious diseases. Nordic Wellth recommends ordering both tests together for the most complete picture. You can expect the results within 2-3 days.
What happens next?
The lab sends the results to your personal dashboard, with comments from both a doctor and a nutritionist. If results are abnormal, we recommend seeing a doctor and, if appropriate, booking an appointment with a Nordic Wellth nutrition lifestyle specialist.
