Fat and cholesterol are transported in particles called lipoproteins. Two of the most important lipoproteins are HDL och LDL.
This test is a measurement of the ratio between HDL and LDL and is always included alongside HDL and LDL.
HDL and LDL are lipoproteins made in the liver and they transport fat and cholesterol around the body. LDL is a calculated value and the UK’s health advisory body (NICE) now advises calculating non-HDL cholesterol instead of the HDL/LDL ratio. However, the HDL/LDL ratio is still more widely used and well-known, so everyone who does a cholesterol test will learn their HDL/LDL ratio.

The lab sends the results to your personal dashboard, with comments from both a doctor and a nutritionist. If results are abnormal, we recommend seeing a doctor and, if appropriate, booking an appointment with a Nordic Wellth nutrition lifestyle specialist.
You may need to make lifestyle and dietary changes.
